You reach us the same way. When you log on to our website at www.oglethorpe.k12.ga.us, you will see our website has been updated! All your favorite links are still there! There is now a “Live Feed” section that is similar to our posts on social media. The primary and elementary schools now are combined in preparation for their big move! We also have a new app for you to download and use.
Please be patient as we complete the full transfer and tweak some things between now and the start of school. We welcome your feedback so please don’t hesitate to comment and let us know what you like or where we can improve!
Oglethorpe County School System is excited to announce Carlos Strong as the new Head Boys Basketball Coach! Coach Strong comes with a wealth of coaching experience and played basketball at UGA and in the NBA. Welcome Coach Strong to our OC Family!
2024-25 Open House dates!
The 2024-25 school calendar has been amended for primary and elementary school students due to moving in to the new school over the winter break. Students will end 2 days earlier in December and will return on January 10th, 2025 to the new school! An open house will be held prior to students returning on January 10th.
The calendar has not changed for the middle or high school students.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads, granddads, and those that play the role of a father figure in our students’ lives.
The Oglethorpe County High School Sports Hall of Fame nominations are being accepted now through June 28, 2024. Nomination forms are located on our website or can be picked up in the Oglethorpe County Schools Central Office at 735 Athens Road, Lexington. Thank you to our parents, staff, community members and particularly our students for coming to participate in our strategic planning meeting today.
We reviewed the 2023/24 school year and discussed our goal areas for next year. Thank you to all those who came and participated in this important event.

This phenomenal group of educators has left an indelible imprint on our students' lives. Whether it was in the classroom, in the lunchroom, or on the bus, they have all made a significant difference. Their tremendous wisdom and dedication will be missed by all whose lives they have touched!
